  • All Star Game: Wed 7/1 (rain date Thurs 7/2); no games Fri 7/3

  • Single-elimination playoffs start 7/13; will conclude by latest Thurs 7/30

  • Games are generally (but not always!) played on concentration days:

    • 8U: Fridays plus any other weeknight

    • 10U: Mondays and Wednesdays

    • 12U: Tuesdays and Thursdays

    • 14U: Mondays and Wednesdays

    • 16/18U: Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • The league fee is $450 per team. Your team must be registered with USA Softball, at a cost of $50 per year. If your team was registered in Fall or Spring, there is no need to register them again for the Summer.

You pay umpires on the field. For 8U and 10U, there is 1 umpire ($35 per team per game). For 12U, 14U and 16/18U, there are 2 umpires ($70 per team per game).

  • The Regular season starts 6/8 (6/15 for 16/18U). Playoffs start 7/13 and will conclude by 7/30 at the latest. There will be an All Star Game for nominated players on Thursday July 2 (rain date Friday July 3).

We will continue to have a concentration of games on certain days; however, this is summer softball so teams should be prepared to play any day! 8U will play any night but almost certainly on Fridays; 10U and 14U on Mondays and Wednesdays; 12U and 16/18U on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • We follow the 2026 USA Softball Age Chart - CLICK HERE.

  • Teams may move games to any site and any day of the week, as long as both teams agree. If they cannot agree on a day & time, the game will be played at its originally scheduled day and time.

  • No - the league takes care of all umpire scheduling and you will have their contact information in advance of games.

  • There are playoffs! Teams must play at least 8 games to be eligible for the playoffs. Champions and Runners up in each Division receive rings and shirts.

  • Yes! Teams will generally get half of their games on their Home fields. The exact number of Home games will depend on the number of teams registered.

  • With the exception of 14U, players must ordinarily represent the town she lives in, unless she lives in a town that is NOT fielding a team in this league at her age level. Players and teams may also seek an exception – which will be freely granted - to play for the town where she plays recreation ball, or the town in which she goes to school. All players who DO NOT live in the towns they represent must be clearly listed in their team roster, with the exception they are claiming (rec league participation, school participation).

  • No, your standard team insurance is sufficient. You do need to provide a COI naming USA Softball NJ D2 as a Certificate Holder. Your insurer will not charge you for this.

  • The league rules are still being drafted. Until they are drafted, the chart above gives a pretty good idea of what the rules will look like for each division.
